WHY INDOOR OR INTIMATE SESSION MATTERS?
Photography sessions are not just an assignment. It’s not a shoot-and-go task.
It more like how you build a journey, or a process to make sure your couples truly enjoy the session.
Like every plot, before there’s a climax, there’s always an intro.
This is when Indoor Session/ Intimate session comes in.
Not all couples are natural in front of cameras. Most of them are quite awkward for the shoot, as they are not supermodels. Hence it’s important how photographers guide you couples, and prep them into a state, where either they are comfortable in front of cameras, or they forgotten your existence.
Study your couples.
Some of them are out-going kinda people, so you may took less time to warm them up. They can just start enjoying the session and be themselves in front of you. A little games, or some small activities usually are the best options to get them into state.
But what happens to couples who are introvert or slow-coach?
Some couples are likely to be the quiet type. If it’s in that case, you may want to take more time and try to guide them slowly. Slow down yourself and adjust the session’s shooting tempo.
However, if you found out that they are prone to the chill and quiet vibes; just let them be. Quiet can be beautiful sometimes. There’s no need to hype them up. This will only make them tired, and yourself getting exhausted too. (To be honest, me myself enjoy quiet/ intimate session more than hypes one.)
A well warmed up couples will usually give the session good results, especially for the next session.
So make sure to make them feel welcomed during the first session!
In short, no matter you’re going for the hype vibes or the quiet atmosphere, prioritize your couple first. See which one suits them and they are also comfortable with.
A good start is always the best start.
